They might go where the seller tells them to go, using the PCGS Price Guide for raw, problem coins image

Sometimes I think they just make it up out of no where. They here about the expensive coins find one they have never seen and smack, instant expensive rarity.

That is why TPGs were invented. To take most of the BS out of the dealer guessing, I mean grading.

Many dealers don't guess. They under-grade when they buy and they over-grade when they sell, on purpose. Thankfully TPGs have eliminated a lot of that deceit.

I take the face value of the coin, multiply it by 10.6. Then, take the even numbers from the year and multiply by 7, adding it to the first number. Then, divide the new total by the number of even numbers less than 5. Next, I take the whole integer value of that number and multiply it by the the sum of the years divided by any repeating numbers in the date.

For example, 1979 Susan B Anthony dollar coin.
    $1*10.6 = $10.6
    0*7+10.6 = $10.6
    $10.6/1 = $10.6
    10*(26/9) = $28.88

So, by my calculations, I would sell a 1979 Susan B Anthony dollar, raw, for a buy it now of $28.89. If it is graded by a third world grading company, multiply by pi (3.1415...)
