1885 CC VAM-2A??

I have a Morgan I think may be the 1885 CC VAM-2A. Anyhow did some looking over vamworld and Heritage. I did not see any prices listed for this coin as selling. I see where it is an (R6) on Vam World. I would assume it would have a premium? or? Listed as "1885-CC VAM-2A Dash Under 8, Clashed Obverse n" I see the clash and the line under the 2nd 8 as listed. The coin is MS 64 or so... "R‑6 Very Rare (13‑30)" Are those numbers still correct? or has the rarity numbers shifted a bit? Any insight you can provide would be of great help. Also it mentioned incuse "N" on a VAM 2A... What would I be looking for? Thanks.

I have no sales records for one of those selling as a VAM 2A, which may indicate that the R-6 rarity is for real.
    When in doubt, don't.
  • Ok so if per say I had one? then what kinda premium would it be worth? Or is that not a question that could be answered. I checked all the main places and found none sold either. Do you happen to know how many PCGS has certified?

Neither PCGS nor NGC attribute that one, and ANACS only attributes the regular VAM-2, so there's no way to get a feel for how many exist or any way to guess what (if any) premium there would be. My gut hunch guess is that it's too minor of a variety to command any extra interest or value.

And remember the general rule; the higher the regular numismatic value of the coin...the less the VAM will add. The '85-CC is rare in all grades (in fact it is far rarer in circulated grades than MS) so a VAM is not likely to add a lot of extra market value to the deal IMO.
