  • No, but you might want to let him know. Looks like it might take a little longer to reach him.

My PO is a branch of the main one in the city. I once had an inbound Express package go to a different branch PO, prompting the missent status and day-late delivery. The USPS lost about $40 on that one because it didn't get here overnight... stupid thing was it was within a mile of me at both the main and wrong branch post office.

Huh. Weird. Thanks for the replies, I let the buyer know it might be a day or two late.

Well, at least it's not officially "missing" or "damaged", unless "missent" is a polite c.y.a. euphemism.

The fact that USPS realizes it ended up on the wrong truck or route or whatever might be a good sign that it'll get there- just not quite as soon as expected.

I wouldn't sweat it too much... yet.

Oh yes, I sent out 2 packages at the same time last summer, 1 was to Pennsylvania, and 1 to Florida.

Now get this, I always get delivery conformation for my peace of mine, that's all, my worry. They were all sent to Plano Texas, yes Plano Texas. I live in Maryland get you, Pennsylvania is only about 100 miles or so and Florida is at the most where the package was going 1,200 miles.

After 4 weeks the 1 package was delivered to Florida, "DAMAGED" but the product was still good, buyer was happy but pissed off at the USPS and believed me 100%.

Now the other 1 that was only going 100 miles from my house, was finally sent back to my address in a body bag 7 weeks later, but the buyer had a chance to sign for it, refused because he/she saw the package was f-ed up and had notta in it, all contents missing. So the USPS sent in back to me, The coins missing were 1882cc,1883cc,1884cc. In gsa slabs graded NGC 64.

Now call me a crook, but I insured them for $1,200.00 the buyer paid $900.00, he got pissed and blamed me so I gave him a refund of $900.00, my post master got my invoices of the value of my coins, not the ebay sale and I got a refund of $1,200.00 plus I even got a $20.00 freebie to mail my packages again at USPS.

So long story short $300.00 profit for USPS not doing their job, the worry and harrasment of the one buyer was worth a settlement like that, don't you think? Sorry if this makes someone mad.

Oh by the way the package was taped from head to toe and had a utility knife cut on both boxes in question, they were stomped on but I still don't know why they didn't steal the other coins going to Florida. My post master tells me this happens all the time, the zipcode shipment was fine when they sent it but our main hub is in DUlles airport in Dulles Va and someone there stoled the coins and shipped them to Texas on purpose.
