gold nuggets--any dealers buying these??

I know this is OT, but does anyone know if there are any dealers set up at the Baltimore Show next week that specialize or deal in buying larger gold nuggets? I have a few in the 4 to 10 ounce range( Australian nuggets ) and am thinking about selling. I understand that there is a 20 or 30% premium for the larger nuggets but don't really know anything else about the wholesale/retail involving these. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Those are cool. I wish I knew more about them.
  • I would put them on Ebay with your premium first, before selling to a dealer.

I just sold a 30 ouncer in the last Stacks sale. But there are one or two dealers that attend most major shows who will buy and sell.

the higher the weight the less the premium.

Not necessarily. Past a certain size, rarity kicks in and the premiums go up. Take a look at the boot of cortez in the last Heritage sale.

Much thanks to everyone for their replies. Bruce, could you PM the names of those dealers whom you know deal in these nuggets?

I don't know their names - I've just noticed a booth or two with nuggets at every major show I've attended.

I saw a cool piece of silver ore (not sure if that is the right term) with a tiny gold nugget in it. I wish I knew a decent price for a piece like that. It was 10 grams, mainly silver and I think 4.5 a gram. Just looked real cool.

What is the price per weight on nuggets? I have some smaller ones from CA and was wonder what they might fetch.
It is not exactly cheating, I prefer to consider it creative problem solving!!!
