1898 Mexican Libertad any value?

Besides silver content?

I will shoot pics later, just wondering if in good condition if it retains any numismatic value.

Not knowing anything about Mexican silver I would guess it to be AU I guess?

Thanks Rob

No Libertads in 1898 - do you mean 1998? They did have pesos and 8 reales back then....Send pictures!

Keep in mind that in 1949, the mints at San Francisco and Mexico struck several million Peso coins dated 1898 for the Republic of China. These pieces can be properly called restrikes and trade coins. Restrikes can be distinguished from originals in that the beaded edge of the reverse contains 134 beads, while the edge of the original contains 140 beads. Also, to determine the value if this is not a restrike, it would be good to know which Mexican mint produced the Peso in question.

Oops I got this piece confused with another Peso which is unc. The unc is a 1964.100 silver peso.

So worth anything more than silver value?
