Any opinions on this sig ?

Looks OK to me , compared to a lot that I have looked at .

The slant looks right on , but the U in Ruth looks a little small ?

Yea, I see that . . . There is a baseball that I am trying to load from a site where the sig is damn near dead on , but I'm having a problem with my Photo bucket loading .

Back in the day with the fountain pens , I'm sure the ink had to skip a little as well , I'm gonna still try to load this pic , My baseball , I have never seen another one as beautiful as far as centering on the ball and just the absolute beauty of the sig .

I do notice the spots you have indicated though
  • your ball is probably worth $150,000 or more, just because of the added character
    here is one

  • it is really hard to tell if a n autograph is real without having some sort of authentication
little discrepencies don't make an autograph invalid
look at this one, is it real or fake?

Well, we'll see May 3rd what it gets , it is being auctioned through Heritage and it comes online about april 3rd or so .

I don't really think it will get anything close to that number , I have never seen a team signed baseball get a number that high ,

I have been offered 50,000 cash for it in the past though .

At the time I had no plans on letting it go

That Blue one , I have always thought was bogus

The bottom one , GH Ruth looks legit compared to others I have seen , especially the sharp ending of the R in Ruth

I do know that the Blue sig has been authenticated by PSA if I am not mistaken, i still think it is Bogus though , but that's just my opinion .

The cut sig on my top post , the flow it has looks very confident , no visible skiping or shaking of the hand , the A is open and I can not find any where it is open , also the way Ruth crosses his T from right to left , rather than left to right is close
  • I was just trying to make a point, that it is so difficult to authenticate an autograph
here is where that auto in my previous post comes from

Wow - what made ya decide to put your ball up for sale Anthony?

I always liked it - in fact - I have it archived in case you changed your icon.

Well good luck! I hope it brings all kinds of bucks!

BTW - here's a Ruth ball that I've always liked because it was signed to Ted Williams:

Well , I really am kinda kickin myself right now for doing it , Every time I look at my computer screen and I know it isn't in my house , it gives me a bad feeling , But I do need the cash for some business ideas and some home improvments and such , I have other things I could have auctioned , 58 yankees T/S 39 Yankees T/s , but I don't think they would bring what I need .

Another thing is , I really can not display that ball without the threat of someone taking it and heading for the border , It has been taken from my house one time already, luckily i knew who had to do it and I was right and I did get it back , but I was a basket case the whole time .

A few of you guys asked it i ever did decide to auction it , to link you to the auction , as soon as it is previewed I will do just that .

It does hurt to not have it though , incredibly

Mr. Torc , I was jerked in the past on a cut sig , I paid 3 K for , turned out to be bogus , so I have learned a lot about that particular sig , I am by no means a pro at it , but I have learned to look for a lot of little things , that's why I still think that bold Blue sig is Bogus , I don't care who authenticated it , I would not buy that one .

He has one of the most neat sigs ,

Mr. Stone that is an incredible baseball right there . . .

There is no doubt that is authentic

If I was in the market for a Ruth sig I would not consider the first example as it is.

As I have stated before though, these days it only matters if you can get it past PSA or JSA. Once you have their "seal of approval" then you win the lottery. It really pains me that I can't get top dollar for my autographs without paying $20-250 to one of those companies - to have an autograph "approved" by someone who probably isn't as old as the years I have been collecting.
  • There's no "swoop" to start the "B" either, which I don't think I ever remember seeing absent on a Ruth sig.
