Rate The Most Trustworthy Auction Houses

In your opinion, please tell me your opinion of the most trustworthy auction houses down the ones with the worst reputation. These would be the auction houses where you believe the prices are true, least shill bidding, and honest and reputable people running the company. • In my opinion, my opinion is that I don't know anything about these guys other than Memory Lane and I haven't, in my opinion, had any problems with them. But, that's just my opinion.image

Andy Madec is one of the most honest and professional dealers out there. I have nothing but good things to say about him. He's even gone out of his way to be very friendly with my family at shows that I have attended. A class act.

One not mentioned Heritage auctions, they are cool and will work with you.
  • I've had several positive experiences with heritage auctions and lelands, both extremely reputable organizations. At the other end of the spectrum s. verkman/clean sweep auctions are excrement, especially if you are a consignor(avoid like the plague!).

REA and Goodwin are great people to work with. Andy Madec as well, he can get a little behind sometimes. Memory Lane has too much baggage associated with them for me to recommend.

Verkman/Clean Sweep changed their auction rules within the past few months to charge bidders a 5% or 10% penalty if they bid past a certain hour in order to discourage additional bidding (or as they say, encourage more bidding earlier in the evening).

Apparently, they are less concerned about getting the highest possible hammer price for their consignors as they are about getting to sleep by a certain hour.

I have only used Heritage , I have absolutely nothing bad to say about the company ,

I met with Phil Aman & Mark Jordan a few weeks ago , they were 10,000 times more helpful than anyone else I was talking with , which was about 10 companies .

I've only dealt with Andy Madec and Robert Edward Auctions. Both were excellent.
