    That cover is extremely cool. I have examples of regular issues used as revenues, but no usages of revenues as regular postage.

    coinpictures - maybe my little article isn't clear enough. That Express stamp was used as a revenue stamp on that Nevada cover, not postage (express mail was subject briefly to revenue tax). Attempted usages of revenues for postage are much more common. Usually they were caught and marked postage due. A nice example that went thru is shown below:
