1952 Bowman Baseball Cards

The 2008 Standard Catalog of Baseball Cards states that the exact dimensions of these cards are 2 1/16" x 3 1/8". I cannot seem to understand the concept of what is possible variations of these precise measurements from the factory and when a card has been trimmed. Does anyone know if it's possible that ANY of these cards were factory cut in great volume not consistent with this sizing. I've found some angled up to 1/16 " and some completely short at least 1/16" ( which is significantly visible compared to a correctly sized card or in a holder that fits them tightly).
Some trimmed cards actually squeak through and get graded, and some cards that an owner may have had since the day he owned the pack may get sent back from PSA and called 'trimmed'.... how guaranteed would I be to receive cards NOT in these EXACT dimensions, and especially with some subtle 'slanting' of the top of the card, etc (again, up to 1/16" on average, but visible slant). I had to put this out there and see if anyone is an EXPERT on 1952 Bowmans and how they vary, and is it truly a coin toss when sending them in to get graded. I don't want to accuse sellers of sending me trimmed cards, but should I insist they always meet those exact measurements to be on the safe side.
