not only because of its appeal, but the fact that it is a very tough set to complete due to the high numbers....

Since most of you have seen the stars of the set, I will post a few of the non-stars of the set.

I've also always liked the art-deco sytle of Diamond Stars.
Very hard to complete in any kind of decent shape - mainly due to the cost!
One of the toughest cards to find in the set:

My favorite sets are the 1914/15 Cracker Jacks.

<< <i>1956 Topps, I think these are just little pieces of art, this one really show why to me:
That is "Puddin Head" Jones
Dave D.
Sweet Morsels Toffee and Chocolates
<< <i>I would have to say , without even a backward glance . . .my favorite set are Perkdogs Perkies . . >>
Mine too actually!!!
<< <i>I always like the 55 Topps All-American football set. >>

<< <i>Mike, those T3s are outstanding! My favorite baseball sets are probably '53 Topps, '41 Play Ball and '52 Bowman. I imagine if I could afford any of the T3s than those would be high on the list as well.

Thanx Chris.
Interestingly - of the modern sets - the 53T set is my favorite also - tho I've never attempted to do it.
I might consider it some day - probably in about 5 or 6 range.

40 YEARS OF TOPP 1952-1991
That right there my friend is one of the best collections i've seen period!
Are those all certified autos?
WOW!

It may be boring. It may have horrible pictures. It may have bad attempts at airbrushing.
But, that set got me back in the hobby so it will always have a little meaning to me.

Wow, that looks super sweet! But where's 1992-2000? I bet assembling/buying that set didn't come cheap, did it?

Besides maybe 1992 Manny, I can't think of any other topps cards between 1992-2000 that I really consider "classic", and i think topps designs went downhill after that, so 40 years seemed to be a good place to stop.
In answer to the other questions, yes, all are either manufacturer certified, or PSA/DNA. I have replaced a few since then, just haven't upgraded the scan. 1978 is now PSA/DNA Murray, 1986 is now PSA/DNA bonds, 1980 is now PSA/DNA rickey henderson, 1987 is PSA/DNA Palmeiro (i have 87 donruss psa/dna maddux), 1970 is psa/dna pete rose, 1968 is now Topps ARchives Nolan Ryan, 1953 is topps stars mays)
I would guess if i had to pick favorite sets, i would go with Turkey Red, All Goudey, Topps 54, 56, 58, 60, 65, 71, BOwman 50,52.
And this being my all time favorite looking vintage card.
Goodlieu's 1948 Bowman Basketball
1957 Topps PSA
1961 Fleer SGC
