The "11 wave" 4 mon coin (C#4.2) was cast in both copper and brass for nearly 100 years (1769-1860), in uncounted millions. They are very common and available today, and catalog at <$1 unless they are in superb, pristine condition.
Similar coins, with somewhat different characters on the obverse, were cast subsequently, right up to the first few years of the Meiji Era. One of those was indeed cast during the period written on your holder.
