I think your coins are just dull.

What works great for me is cutting them out of the flips prior to photographing

Cut the coin out and rub the coin with a bristle pad and a bit of detergent.
That makes the coin nice and shiny.
The meaning of life ? I don't know but I am sure that coins have something to do with it.

You need to rub a little vasoline on the flip. This will act as a light refractor and will allow the image to appear as if their was no plastic between the coin and lense.
Just kidding!!

Any guesses from those who aren't familiar with this specific coin?

I guessed right via a PM earlier, so I'll just sit and gloat now
Nice coin, Don. Worth quite a chunk 'o' change!

Attractively toned VF. Deserves a better image perhaps, there must be some luster left on it.

I think ICCS would grade it a 30... or even 35. I like it

ICCS VF-30 In person, the coin is nicer, I think it could have gone EF-40 on a good day.

I would offer to buy this one if I did not already own one... I really like it and I agree that 30 is too conservative for this one.

Let me get it into a PCGS EF40 slab first.
