I am new to detecting. I just bought one so my 4 yo and I could go treasure hunting. As she says "We'll be like pirates." Would anyone like to give me any tips what so ever? Any tip recieved will be a big help.

What kind did you buy? That'll help for starters...The ones that own your type will really be of some assistance..

I bought a Bounty Hunter Quick Draw II. And I was also thinking about getting a junior detector for the kids. I dont want to spend too much but I dont want them to be dissapointed either. My kids are 5 - 10 years old.

Tip---Try Tot Lots = Play grounds. One with sand will be the easiest to recover a target and keep a kid going.

After you use the machine for a while, then try grass around play area and ball fields. Hills are good for targets. Shade trees are good also.
