$470 for a RAW 1976 Topps set? This set had better be good!

Is this raw 1976 Topps set made of gold or something???

Now, I also want to upgrade my own set (preferably using a NRMT/MT near set w/o the key cards) and get the keys in PSA 7 just like my 1975 set. And from the pics the set does look pretty sharp, and I could maybe see $200-$225. But $470??? All I can say for the buyer's sake is that set had better be pretty damn good. image

  • So far, every picture shows cards with centering of 65/35 or worse.
    There's a bunch that shows 80/20 centering.
If that's indictative for the entire set, then that's way too much.
The Rose seems to be the exception.

I was watching this set as well as the seller is very close to me but the 90/10 Ryan and Aaron really turned me off

I know, I wouldn't even consider $250 unless the set was just totally minty from top to bottom. image

Just me - but if I were in the market for a set like that - I'ld want to buy it "in" person - at a show - where I could get a good feel for what I was buying.

It's just too much of a pain to buy it and then have to pay to ship it back - if they're even willing to take a return?

Well, this set ended at $470 shipped. Now, I could MAYBE understand that price if let's say, all the key cards are PSA 8 or 9 or something, but unless this set is truely minty from top to bottom (and like the previous poster said, the OC keys are not a good first impression), I doubt the buyer will get anywhere close to what he/she/it paid for.

I have a raw 76 set that puts this one to shame, I think the highlights of it are in an old thread around here somewhere.

Anyone notice New England Sportscard was the winner? Wonder how many of these will wind up in PSA holders?

there must've been a couple of cards in the mix that had psa 10 potential.

otherwise they just wasted some cheese on dick.
