Zach Thomas is the latest to be let go, earlier in the week QB Trent Green and wide receiver Marty Booker along with seven others were
cut loose. This suggests to me that Parcells will probably trade that #1 pick for multiple picks later in the draft, Jerry Jones is reported
to be interested in making a deal for #1. Stay tuned.

I would absolutely trade the #1 pick and drop a bit while picking up multiple picks.

The Dolphins obviously have a great need at QB but also in so many other areas as well, I think it is too much of a gamble taking a
QB #1 when you can get help in so many other areas as well by trading the pick for multiple draft choices later in the draft.
That's why you trade down the #1 and pick up two 1st rounders (if everything works out along with another 3rd or 4th or something) and we already have two 2nd rounders. That way, we pick up four of the top drafted players. It doesn't guarantee anything, but it helps to have fresh legs and folks going for starting spots right from the get go.
The QB spot can be handled by Beck or a journeyman (see Trent Dilfer) if need be. But, you need to build on the lines.

Dolphins trade McFadden to Dallas for Marion Barber, their two #1 picks, and a 3rd rounder.

Could very well happen, I hear that Jerry Jones is obsessed with getting McFadden and if so he will probably do whatever
it takes to accomplish that goal.
They will have over $100MM tied up between McFadden and Romo...

It's because they both have ties to Arkansas.

I think Jerry might be letting his old ties cloud his better judgment if this causes salary cap problems in the future but he wants to be in
a Super Bowl NOW so reason goes out the window....

yep, that's been circling around for a couple of weeks. I think Jerry Jones is way too enamored with McFadden considering how good Barber is, and the Dolphins would be stupid to not take that trade if it is indeed offered.
Wish the Chiefs would do some house cleaning----and i mean the TEAM!!!!!!!!
