72 Topps Registry Set - Check Your Registry Numbers

I didn't right it down (the seller), but I purchased a Darrell Chaney 72 Topps Card with Registry Number 11019580. It's still listed in someones set, so I can't upload it.

If you have the card registered, can you delete it?

Also, that would be a nice feature. You type in a number using the certification option and not only would it tell you manufacturer, year, name, etc., but also the owner of the card. Email address would be optional.

I have had that happen to me before...send a scan of your card to BJ along with the explanation you just provided. It may take a few days...but you will get it resolved.

With regards to PSA providing the "owner"...I think it would be nearly impossible as the cards move from person to person...you might be able to get who originally got the card graded. I am not sure if PSA wants to give this out...what if there was a correlation between who submitted cards and those who got higher grades?

    Regards,

    Alan

    Sorry Dale,

Thought I could help. I had 2 Darrel Chaney's graded within the last month. But, Neil's got the 8 and I have the 9. BJ is definitely your best source to find out. You may want to check with Carlos as well if you bought any from him - he has a psa 8 Chaney already so he would have sold off any extra.

  • Frank - I read the threads quite often myself and find the 72' guys quite entertaining. Just wondering if there is subliminal mind waves sent out by your spinning symbol that transmit: Collect 72'ssss.....Collect 72'ssss......Collect 72'ssss......

    Dale,

I don't have that card listed on my set either.

And Frank SLOW DOWN on that 1970 Topps Baseball set...Every day your percentage goes up about 2-3%

Dale> When I run cert# 11019580 it comes up as Mike Hedlund in PSA8 - not Darrel Chaney.
    Am I missing something?

BTW- I don't have that Hedlund and I don't yet have a Chaney.

  • Heck, I couldn't enter it, cause its already registered in my set. What a dumb behind I am. Yep, I own the Hedlund card and I have it registered.

Now, I have to figure out what Chaney Card I won as a PSA 8 and what the heck the correct number is.

I "hate" working with databases and Times Roman 8 fonting. Perhaps I need glasses.

  • I will never ever again complain about the PSA Staff. These people are hard working, dedicated and highly skilled in their profession. Us morons (me) can't use a simple Access Database and keep my own cards straight.

I'm sorry for ever starting this stupid thread.

I beg forgiveness from the 72'ers.

If I ever again (as if I haven't in the past) start another stupid thread, please email me at dwedge@clevelandnet.com and tell me that I'm a moron.

Forgive me Nolan Ryan PSA 10, for I have sinned.

  • Finally, an answer to the mystery. I purchased the card from Dan Markel and it came today. I screwed up the registry number when I wrote it in my database, but live is now good.

  • Mike,

I was 3 in 72. I didn't spend all my paper route money until the early 80's. My 1st year of buying packs was 78. Mike we can start the we were too young in 72 to have a paper route club.

Damm - I thought we had a real '72 Topps scandal in the works.

The '72 cards are still radioactive though (see my post in the other thread).
