1971 Clemente with black marker on border.

I picked up a small lot of cards and this Clemente was in it. After removing it from the screw down that it was in, I noticed that the border of the card was touched up with a black magic marker. It's a real shame because it looks like a pretty nice card. What would you do with it if it where yours? Not sure how much the marker is going to show up in the scan but it is definitely there.

I would find the nearest bridge (a third story or higher window will do in a pinch), asses my karmic debts, and then casually flip a coin.

Here's hoping yours comes up heads.

Damn shame, but stuff happens. Find a nice unretouched one, and dump this 'un.
  • I'd just keep it and enjoy looking at it. After all, the fact that it has been restored doesn't affect it's visual appeal.
  • WWCD...What would Clemente Do?

I am doing a raw set of the 71"s and this would fit nicely in my set. If the price is right I would take it off your hands
I am on a budget and I am not afraid to use it!!

  • WWCD?.. Say, "To heck with baseball cards, there's thousands of earthquake victims starving and homeless".

Good looking card. Keep for your personal enjoyment.

Or saell it to the poster who knows it's been touched-up.

You can use a pantyhose to remove some of the marker, it will make the card less visual appealing but it may remove all the marker as well. If it has bled to the edge of the card then there is nothing you can do to remove it.
