Mintage was 2.109 with both reeded edge and non reeded edge proofs... My book is extremely old (1990)so the prices will not even be in the same ball park but XF 100.00 and UNC 400.00 as of 1990

1836 Capped Liberty dime. My oldest US detecting find so far. I dig almost every signal I get for the most part. Go figure...
Here are a few prices realized on 1866 Hong Kong Dollars in overseas auction sales. These coins appear to have better eye appeal than the one shown. (It is difficult to judge coins from pics, however)
St. James Auction 6/8/07 $948 AU
St. James Auction 6/8/07 $689 XF
St. James Auction 10/03/05 $5,264 a true gem, great coin
Spink Auction 10/30/06 $590 VF cleaned
Spink Auction 6/29/06 $580 F/VF attractive
In my opinion, any early Hong Kong Dollar is worth owning. There just aren't all that many available. Problem free coins are very scarce. Now for a real challenge, find an attractive problem free 1866 or 1867 Hong Kong half dollar, especially an 1867.
The coins looks like it has been cleaned and oddly retoned. I collect coins with eye-appeal more than technical grade, so I'd pass on that coin (especially at that price).
Glenn, I'd hold out if I were you. Lots of nicks and knocks on that obverse (and edge). Going after these is sorta like missing a bus... there'll be another one along in a little while. A few bucks more and a few months down the road... sounds like an old Merle Haggard song, doesn't it?
Meanwhile, that new avatar of yours is fabulous!! Tom
I never pay too much for my tokens...but every now and then I may buy them too soon.

I really need to buy a 19th cent. Krause..
The coin I'm considering (through a private sale) is a reeded edge & will first get authenticated.. Seller is asking $950.

I'll admit, I don't like the eye appeal of the coin, but the detail is certainly there. It probably looks better in person too.

Josh;
I trust your judgement & feel the same way about the surfaces...
Might be a good candidate for NCS conservation..
Unfortunately, I can't see this coin "in hand" until I buy it...
