BVG 9.0 OPC Gretzky True Mint

I just received back from Beckett a BVG 9 Mint Wayne Gretzky O Pee Chee RC. The last Mastro Net auction had a 9 go for 10,400+ in a PSA. There are half as many BVG graded 9's than there are PSA's. I'm looking for 10,000. PM me if you're interested. I'm rob66 on ebay for a reference check. I'll send scans to those interested.

Does the card have the OPC rough cut?
"My father would womanize, he would drink. He would make outrageous claims like he invented the question mark. Sometimes he would accuse chestnuts of being lazy. The sort of general malaise that only the genius possess and the insane lament. Our childhood was typical. Summers in Rangoon, luge lessons. In the spring we'd make meat helmets. When we were insolent we were placed in a burlap bag and beaten with reeds - pretty standard really."
  • It is razor sharp.

If it's razor sharp that means it's very likely to be sheet cut. You will have better luck over on the Beckett boards with the card. Good luck either way though.

  • There is NO Gretzky rookie on earth with sharp edges pulled from a pack. If you can get 3,000 for it i'd run to the bank to make sure the M/O has not been trimmed !!

  • I have seen pack pulled second printing OPC RC's that have near razor sharp edges (like this card). Here are 2 digital photos. I'm not at work to get scans. I'll add them when I can. Take a look at the Gretzky set registry. I'm not an amateur. I'm Work in Progress 2nd overall

Beckett is still grading under BVG? I thought BVG wasn't around any more.

  • BVG is what 79 and earlier cards are graded under (as of 2004 I think). Previously all cards were graded with BGS. What complicates matters is that they have a cheap and totally useless level of grading called BCCG that does all years of cards.

Card is still available. email me at rob66@excite.com
