Buying Silver Coins Question

What is a fair price to pay for "junk" silver coins? I have an opportunity to buy 3 large mason jars of silver coin. I will be aloud to look through the jars first. Just trying to be fair. The young lady is selling them to help cover college expenses. She has collected them working on the toll road in a booth.

Thanks ahead of time for the information. I hope this is in the right forum.

Not quite right forum, but oh well.

APMEX, is currently buying at roughly 11.5X face value. Taking that into account, I would say 10-10.75X face value is fair since shipping expenses and time are avoided when you do the transaction directly with her In other words, things are hassle free and more convient.

Agree. Call some local dealers and ask what they are paying. I would bet it's only around 8x. I would try to give her more than any local dealers would, but not enough I couldn't make a buck or two if I wanted to resell. JMHOimage
