How long does it take PSA to log a submission after they receive it?

I sent off my first submission on Friday. The DC shows that they received it last night. I'm just curious as to how long it takes them to log the submission into the system. When I check my order status it tells me that there are no items available. Obviously I'm not worried, I'm just curious as to what to expect since I am a grading virgin. Thanks!

I have always had mine put into the system within 48 hours, however I have read here where
people claim up to a week........or more.

as long as it takes them, or as long as they want to sit on your submission.

The free subs always came back to me fast. I have done 3 such subs and each time they came back within 3 weeks from the day i sent them to them. So basically a week to get them to them, a week there and a week back to me. maybe a lil more but I was happy.

    Edited to add:

I did make sure i wrote the service level on the box.

    that is very important.

CRAP!!! I forgot to write the service on the outside. Does it make a big difference if that is the only submission in the package? And how much of a difference will it make?

    Chris

PS. Thank for all of the information so far. I appreciate it. image

It makes a world of difference.

get them on the phone and explain your situation as it may sit on a shelf if you do not.

putting the service on the side of the box is the most ipmportant thing ya can do.

    TRUE!!

Most free subs are logged in within 48 hours and out the door in about two weeks. That's been my experience.

Nothing can hold up an order like forgetting to put service level on outside of box. I have experienced a difference of 30+ days when forgetting to do this.

    Hi Chris,

I recently sent in 2 "free" submissions (in the same package). Here's the first one, which was my freebies for joining PSA:

    Total Items: 6
    Date Received: 12/27/2007
    Date Shipped: 1/8/2008
    Order Status: Shipped

Here's my second one, which was for obtaining 75% on the set registry (I believe this is what you sent in):

    Total Items: 8
    Date Received: 12/27/2007
    Date Shipped: N/A
Order Status: Your order is still being processed.

I may be wrong, but I think most of the replies you've received on this thread so far are in regards to membership freebies. I think PSA works hard to turn those around quickly. For the set registry freebies, we'll have to see, but it's obviously much lower in priority (which probably makes sense).

    Good luck,

    Tom

What is the latest time of day any of you have ever had a sub pop?

I mailed in 4 submissions on Saturday Feb 9 and they are already showing my submissions as received. I think they open boxes received if you have a higher service listed on the box. I have regular service marked on my box.

Regardless, you have to write on the box the type of service.

The submission was for my membership freebies. I have a long way to go before I receive any freebies for the 75% complete on the registry. I guess I will have to call when I get off of work and try to straighten things out. I'm such and idiot sometimes. image

I just checked the status of my cards again and they are now logged into the system. image I guess that means that I am out of the woods on this submission anyway. Now comes the aggonizing wait until my grades pop.
