I believe those were issued from the Merrick Mint. They produced many of those 23 karat gold foil cards.

Yeah, I know Steve. When I got it today I thought it would be a little bit thicker than it is. LOL, I showed my wife and she was like "WE'RE RICH!" Of course she was joking. Merrick Mint you say. I'll have to check it out.

Im not sure I would have any faith of that being a wood chip having anything to do with baseball. More than likely hampster cage filling.

Yeah, I looked up some info and saw another one without the bat that had bleachers written on the back.

I have a friend back in KY that I just called who said he has a Mantle sort of just like this one. I just thought it was a really neat card for $5.

Yea, look like a few of the Bleachers Gold cards I have .

I have a Mantle and 2 Ruth's

They are hard to get the right color when you scan them

The Mantle has royal blue letters and the card is gold , the Ruth's are gold and silver .
