My 1st Ebay Auction is a Darkside...

I don't want to post the link here because I don't want to come off as trying to spam the board. I'm curious however if any of you would mind critiquing the layout, info and photo in the auction?? I'd send you a link via PM.

I'm not going into dealing, just want to feel the experience and see what I can learn from it.

Cheers! Mike

Nice layout. Great information. A little larger image would be nice, but not 100% necessary for this coin.

Link to coin. I don't consider it spam.

  • I appreciate that. I think my image looks washed out, or like it was dipped and lost its luster, but then I only have 8 of these and they all looked low-luster.
  • I would suggest that you open Darkside auctions to bidders outside US/Canada as this will open greater competition especially with the dollar conversion rates.

Good point Tony, I hadn't noticed that.

  • Thanks guys! I took the Int'l shipping advice, and hopefully priced it (the shipping) right. Had to use USPS's website to guesstimate it. Truely appreciate it! Even have a bid on it now, seems to be someone that frequents here given I've seen some Russ and Marty wins on their feedback.

Thanks again! image I think a Lowenbrau would be appropriate!
  • Postage cost for the item in the linked post above shipped in a bubble mailer (assuming a total weight of 1 oz. or under) would be:

    US - $0.80
    Canada - $0.86
    Europe - $1.07

First class international mail is the cheapest method of delivery outside the US, but cannot be insured through the post office. To get any sort of insurance through the USPS for international shipments, you'd have to ship by Priority Mail Flat Rate Envelope (can be sent registered) or Priority Mail International/Express Mail Flat Rate Envelope/Express Mail International (all of which can be insured). Prices for these services start at $9 to Canada, $11 to Europe.

Also regarding shipment to Europe, if by "confirmation of mailing", you mean "certificate of mailing", you might want to reconsider the need for that service. Although it does prove you mailed the package, it will not do you any good if you have a chargeback for non-delivery, since PayPal will not accept it as proof of shipping.
