Which set should I do???

Well guys, with my 1955 Topps set nearing completion, I have been doing alot of thinking about what I will do next. I have narrowed it down to either the 1957 Topps Baseball in PSA 7 or the 1963 Topps Baseball in PSA 7 and 8. I would like some input from collectors of these years to find out what will be the major obstacles in each set. All thoughts and opinions welcome. Also I would be doing Basic sets, not Master sets.

I like the 1957 set much better. One reason is that non-mint cards of that year do not show as much wear as the borderless 1963's.

Whatever you choose - good luck!

1957 set would get my vote! Great selection of players, alot of them that are not in the 55 set..
  • 57!!! It is more of a challenge to find the older/ higher grades.

    Bob,
I gotta agree with everyone else here,The 1957 set is such a classic one.I Tried putting the 57 set in PSA 7 together once
but gave up do to the size. Maybe I will try it again after I knock down the 55's!!

No doubt about it....the '57, hands down.

I'm on my 2nd go 'round on the set as I built it up to about 40% and got an offer that I couldn't refuse for it. So now, I've built it back up to 20% and counting. image

  • Bob,
Before I decided to make Topps 55's my choice, I really though I was going to try to complete the Topps 63 set. As a kid that was the year I collected the most cards. I had them in a shoe box for around 30 years and finally put them in a binder in the 90's. I had some of them graded and they were 7's and 8's. I sold most of them. But I still have almost 200 raw cards low number cards that probably are mostly 7's. I know that you like graded cards but if you decided to go with 63's maybe we could make some kind of trade. Gary
