1878 7/8 TF Morgan Dollar, VAM-44. Tripled overse, doubled reverse.
Has done nothing but go up in value since discovered. Last sale $12,075 at FUN (Heritage auctions) -PCGS AU58. A year ago it was an 8,500 coin. 4-5 years ago it was a 4-5,000 dollar coin. You could buy that coin for 2-3K 10 years ago.
A classic example of small supply (70 or so) facing extreme demand. If you can find a low grade polished cleaned corroded scratched one that's an ex-jewelry piece for 2K, buy it.
I am surprised that St Gaudens in higher grade (MS-65), and $10 Indian in Higher Grade have not been mentioned either as commons or by specific date. Doesn't anyone collect these? Also what about the MS63 Liberty Double Eagles. Again, doesn't anyone collect these and think they are a good value at this point. I wish I was able to afford to own some. Lets here it from St and Lib Double Eagle owners, are they a good buy right now for future appreciation?

Saints and $10 Indians are probably the two most collected classic gold. Common $10 Indians in MS65 are not undervalued, they trend up and up and up but they are not sleepers like the other coins mentioned in this thread. Same with Saints. Rare date Saints and Indians in MS65 aren't even worth considering in this thread. They are already so expensive few will ever own one.
<< <i>1885 GSA cc morgan. Very low mintage compared with the rest (god only know how many remain in the GSA package after the breakouts) that comand much higher prices. IMHO >>
Nice recommendation. I picked up an NGC MS66 in a trade 4 years ago. The only problem is while I have the box, I do not have the original certificate.
