I'll admit that I dont like it but it is what it is. Only way we can stop them is to buy up all the game used uniforms. I dont have that kind of scratch.
I dont know enough of how to tell real from fake patches because I would not consider myself any kind of modern expert. I just know that people do replace the patches to get more money.

instead of 1 millionaire owning these jerseys and keeping it in a vault, you know get the "millionaires items" and disperse them to the masses, more people get to enjoy it that way, and more people feel " closer to the game" ... i dont think its a bad thing, as long as you assume all these things are real...
its a very pessimistic view to think the cut up jerseys are fake from day 1.....that truth would basically bring down modern card collecting and i dont think the card companies would risk this.....
<< <i>I would MUCH rather someone besides myself own the entire jersey than me own a card with a little piece on it. >>
thats a valid point, but apparently not felt by the majority of collectors (especially modern collectors) otherwise the practice woul dnot have made it this far.....
i for one, think they are running out of items and they are putting in secondary value items such as a jersey when a player was a manger, or game issued (not used) items..
Is it me or do none of these so-called game used jersey patches ever have stains on them? How many games do you think Sayers played where he didn't get mud, grass or blood on his uniform?

He did. That was originally an entirely white patch.

Good point...there's a TON of fake patches out there...but this Sayers seems legit. Sweet pickup
