Please review my show prices

So, tomorrow is the quarterly show here in C-Bus. Nice show, about 150 tables. Nice mix of modern and vintage for the set-builders. I'm strictly selling un-opened stuff from the 70's-80's. No other wax dealers there except the new stuff. Usually don't sell that much, but still have fun. So, here is a bunch off stuff that is placed on 4 fliers on my table.

If you have any comments regarding my asking prices, please post. The prices are firm, but I gave myself just a little cusion to come down if need be. Thanks, Bob

Your prices are great...maybe even a tad low for a show. Have to pay for that table, transportation, and food!

    Your prices are fair Bob.

Much cheaper then the last two shows I have been to actually.

I remember when I use to sell lots of Wax in the late 90s i use to offer high buy back prices on the big pulls.

I would have 90 leaf packs and offer to buy back the F.Thomas at $75 ($20 more then it was currently selling for) if you pulled it out of my wax packs.

I think it generated a little more interest.

Thanks guys - I thought they were fair also.

I actually thought they were fair last time I set up too, but the $$ didn't come out of the wallets that easily.

Roger - I may try that idea.

I think that's a *great* idea. I'd also trying having some really cheap junk was from the 90s that you can sell for almost nothing, or maybe even give away. Give a pack of Triple Play to a kid when his dad is looking at your table...

    Good luck Bob

As was already said - fair prices for a show.

How much does a table cost?

Another way to get the lookers back? Put up a sign - "Thank you for browsing - Please keep me in mind - Come back between 1-2PM and get 10% off all purchases!" Of course if someone says they won't be staying that long, ya can always do it on the spot. Just a thought.

Wow - I haven't been to a local shows in many, many moons.

Table cost is only $50 for Saturday. The show runs on Sunday too, but that's just too much for me. Remodeling a 1,400 sq. ft. basement right now, and time is of the essence. Home theater, wet bar, work-out room, full bath and card room.

Go to Staples etc., get the 2" square Post It notes. Poeple (obviously I don't type well) don't read well, too much writing on those fliers. Slap the Post Its right on your product, they won't leave any residue, and it will make it easier for you potential customers and you. Good luck, enjoy the show, STEVE.

Edited to point out that I am one of those PEOPLE.

    Bob,

I haven't bought unopened packs in years, but I think your prices are very fair. It seems like you have done about everything you could to have a good show - now it is up to the buyers.

I really like Roger's idea of the buy back. It adds the lottery aspect to the purchase that today's modern buyer seems to love. Not to stray too far off topic, but I picked up a Beckett the other day because I wanted to buy some modern PSA rookie cards to add to my collection and I cannot believe how much the modern market mirrors the lottery system. I am more old school, but if it brings more people into the hobby then more power to them. I just fear it may turn more off then bring in. Anyway, good luck at the show!!!

Sigh...I miss the days when we had regular shows in the Tampa Bay area. Now we are lucky to have one once every 6 months or so!

    BOTN -

Yes - I am very lucky we still have a good show around here a few times a year.
