"Shoeless" Joe (Picture Heavy)

Not too long ago I saw someone post this letter to Joe Jackson, and thought it was interesting.

Since I live in SC I thought I'd check out the address and take a drive by the house,, well yesterday I was making some sales calls in Greenville and decided to try and find the house. Little did I know that they put a Ball Park just about were the house would have been.

'West end Field' in downtown Greenville home of the Greenville Drive, a Red Sox class A team. Real nice park, and if you're a Shoeless Joe fan, some cool stuff to see.

The team shop was open so I went in and asked about the address (262 Pendleton), the nice lady working in the shop pointed me around the side of the stadium were a small brick house was.

She told me that 'Joe's' house was moved to this location and would soon be a Museum. She also said that the house was featured on an A&E TV show. Don't know how I missed it.

After dropping $50 in the team shop I walked over to the house and looked into the windows; they have things set up like it would have been when Joe lived there. Pretty cool if you like Museums.
I was very impressed by the park. It looks very fan friendly. Can't wait to catch a game there, too bad it's like a 2 hour drive, or I'd buy season tickets.

Glad you guys like the pics. Next up, I just heard that in April they're going to do some stuff for Larry Doby in Camden, SC his birthplace.
<< <i>Kershaw County will dedicate Larry Doby Recreation Complex at 10:00 am on Saturday, April 14, 2007. >>
<< <i>The Kershaw County Library will have a display of Larry Doby memorabilia during the month of April. >>
It's only about a 15 minute drive. I'll take the camera,,,,,
