There is a lot near my shop where an old house was standing. It looked to have been built in the 40's..The lot was bought by a developer and the house was leveled and cleaned of shrubs and undergrowth. I was planning to go there yesterday, but it didn't pan out. Well today I got to go for 45 minutes..I promised the wife I would run down there and search, and promised to be back before she got off at 6:00 PM..I cut it close, got back at 6:00 on the dot, but in the short time I was there I hit paydirt!..Got my first silver for the year...and I am sure there is much more there...
4 silver Roosies and 2 silver quarters!....a very good haul! Very little trash and not much modern junk..
I left my camera at work, so I had to use my scanner.....not as good a s a camera for sure...

Indeed! I've never topped five in one day. (And got five only one one occasion, when they all came out of the same hole. Another time I came close, with four silver coins and a fragment of another silver in one day.)
I suspect that five in one day (or six, like this) is a bit more routine for you, since you got five the last time we went out together.
Well, OK, maybe not routine even for you, but not unheard of, either. Six silvers in less than an hour is pretty amazing, even from somebody like you!
We need to get out together again sometime soon before the cool weather's gone. We've had the windows open for two days and still the house is a bit stuffy- I actually thought about closing up the windows and turning the air conditioning back on- whaddya think of that, Northern and Midwestern buddies?

Hey, Doc- don't fret too much- come summertime, you'll be able to return the taunt, while I'm hiding indoors from the blistering heat (well, the steamy humidity, mostly). Every dog has his day. We enjoy mild winters down here but we pay for it come summertime. From late May until late September, it gets uncomfortable outdoors, at least for me.
We may not be totally prevented from going out during our "off season" (summer), like some of y'all are by the snow and ice during your "off season" (winter), but you can bet most of my hunts during summertime will be night hunts, and even then, ninety degrees and ninety percent humidity at midnight are not unheard of. Ugh. And then there are the gnats and skeeters...
The sad shame of it is, I had ideal weather and the perfect opportunity to go out today, and didn't. Stayed indoors with a book.
