Gotta love mom and dad...

So yeah, Mom and Dad are awesome. They knew that things were kinda down right now, so they sent us a care package which including a booster box of Topps '52. Pulled a Troy Tulowitzki rookie, Dice K Chrome, and 2 autos out of the same pack; Alberto Arias and Edwar Ramirez. Overall, pretty happy. Thanks mom and dad!

<< <i>Wow...your parents are on this site watching your life story play out? That's a little creepy. >>
Everyone else is on this site watching the Guru life story play out, why shouldn't his mom & dad be on too?

I would think that airing out the family laundry would be slightly frowned upon by the folks who brought you into this place.
Ripken, Brooks & Frank Robinson, Old Orioles, Sweet Spot Autos, older Redskins - Riggins, Sonny, Baugh etc and anything that catches my eye.

<< <i>Got any scans of the Mom? She sounds quite hot....Don't worry you can call me Dad..
EDIT: How old is Momma? better know that before I tap her... >>
Most tasteless and classless post since I have been here. Congratulations, you must be proud.
Hey, just in case they are watching, i'm Guru's best friend of these boards mom and dad, can you buy me a box of cards too?

<< <i>My mom sent me something in the mail the other day; it was a bill for all the food I ate as a child. I can tell she still loves me because she offered a payment plan with only 5% interest. >>
Whats up with all you guys? Why are you living so far from mom and dad? You can't just leave them like that! LOL
Don't let that get to your head, i'm just kidding around. I don't want you to start thinking i'm some kind of mama's boy or daddy's boy
Giovanni
Scans?
One time I was down and one of the board members who doesn't post very often anymore - Qualitycards - sent me this really cool care package with all kinds of cool stuff - one of my favorites was a cool Beatles tome - the "unseen archives" - he's one of the best dealers on the net - a good guy and a fountain of knowledge not to mention a great T3 collector.
This may sound corny - but the amount of knowledge one gets here in a year would take way longer if one were collecting alone and the friendships that one enjoys can't be quantified.

<< <i>My brother is 34 and he still lives with my mom. We are not Italian, so there probably is just something wrong with him.
LOL, I thought my brother was bad, he's 19, and I keep thinking theres something wrong with him, but not anymore
Giovanni
Giovanni, you have a 19 year old brother? I thought in one thread you posted that you were around 75 years old?

75?
If I told you that, I must have been heavily medicated, and drinking at the same time! LOL
We are years appart, but not that long, lol.

<< <i>Giovanni, you need to write this stuff down so you can keep your stories straight. Here I will help you get started; I paid between $105 and $1500 for the Menko Mikan. I am between 20 - 75 years old. >>
That 105 thing, he must have gotten is numbers wrong, lol, and I never said I was 75. Show me the thread that says i'm 75, and prove me wrong!
Giovanni
Edited to say: If I did say that, I was definetly jocking, but I really don't remember even jocking around about my age, lol.
Edited again to say: Oh yeah, by the way, I have a print out of that Mikan Menko sale, for the people who keep thinking I paid 1500 for it. I paid $105, and I have the print out to prove it, which I don't have to prove anyways, but just for the cry babies

<< <i>Giovanni, sorry my mistake. I really did think you said you were an elderly guy, maybe I had one too many of these.
+1 for the pitcher of beer, lol.
Your trying to kill me way before my time

On the other hand, he has the suffix "Sr." after his name, he just went in for hip surgery, he is always talking about medication, he seems to be retired and home all day thinking about the next thread to start (where he asks at least 4+ questions), and then makes sure he has the first 3 replies to the threads he starts, he doesn't really seem to get most jokes, and he generally seems to not know anything about anything outside his Brooklyn basement.

I know what you told me, and I am not crying.
What exactly is a printout anyway?
Are you know trying to say thay while the card was at Mastro you have a thread where you state you paid 105.00 for it?
Or, are you saying you have a receipt that you paid 105.00 for it? Please no anologys comparing the Menko with a T206 Wagner, it didn't fly then and it won't fly now.
Steve
edited to add: I now believe you paid 105.00 for it.
<< <i>I can see how people would get confused on how old Giovanni really is. On the one hand, he says he has a 19 year old brother, he uses words like "sick" "hot" "really hot" etc. to describe basketball cards more often than a 15 year old Beverly hills teenager would, he uses emoticons like they are mandatory punctuation marks for every sentence (even when they dont seem to apply), and he loves to use "LOL" all the time, (even when it doesn't seem to apply), which all would suggest hes pretty young.

You are welcome Guru. hope that box yielded some gems for you!
Steve
Who cares about spelling perfect, miss use of any punctuations marks. Half the people here are half drunk when their typping anyways(not saying thats a bad thing LOL LOL).
If you are so good in correcting people when they type, why don't you become a teacher???
Yes, I am Sr. Yes, I did go in for two surgeries actualy, and it wasen't hit surgeries for your information. Yes, I am on medication, but not for hip surgery, LOL LOL LOL. Triple LOL for ya, hows that?
No, I am not retired, i'm actualy on temporary disability, do to a few medical issues. Yeah, sure I do ask a few questions here and there, but what is it to you? I ask a question just like everybody else. Matter of fact, I probably answered questions for you before, did you see me crying?
Yeah, sure sometimes I don't get some of the jokes over here, but since when does everybody here understand anything, anybody is talking about right?
I don't live in Brooklyn, I actualy live on Staten Island, but I did live in Brooklyn, but that was a long time ago. And no, I don't live in a basement, I actualy live in a house!!!!!!!!! LOLLLLL LOLL (*&$^@% !!!!!!
Anything else you'd like to know?

<< <i>I just read the whole thread, and now thats 5 minutes of my life wasted and gone forever. >>

Knowing he even exists is a little too much for me at this point.
I say this because those of you who have said things about me going off topic in the past have no place anymore to say anything. I've attempted to stay on topic and yet the first several posts were totally off topic.
Now, I understand more than ever the frustration that some of you have had with me. I will most certainly post updates about my job, but much more than that will be reserved for others.
I'm not sure if this was intentional and I imagine not, but it has given me perspective. So, if it was you have succeeded. If not, you guys are just straight up weird.
