Need info on Mexican 50-gram gold bar... (pics)

I recently obtained this Mexican gold bar (50 grams, approx 1.6 oz. pure).



Anyone ever seen it before? What is it worth? Actually, any info you can give me would be greatly appreciated. Can't find a thing about it anywhere online.

Very cool piece! Is the stamp approx. 40mm in diameter? It looks like a copy of the obverse die from 1947-48 5 Pesos was used to mark it, so perhaps that would help with determining the age.

The whole piece is only about the diameter of a 50 pesos gold piece, so the stamp is no bigger than a dime (probably even smaller)...maybe the size of the 2 1/2 pesos gold.

Thank you all for the kind remarks, once I say it I knew it was quite special. I showed it to my father who has pretty much seen everything and even he had not seen it.

ps, I am a huge fan of mexico gold and silver am thinking of starting a little type set for these...i was hoping someone could shed a little light on this if it had any denominational value in mexico and I could thus justify including this in the set
