Thanks for identifying the date spans for each folder! Can't wait to get my hands on them!

So why not nickels, dimes, halves, or Twonies?

I did that in a way... I e-mailed them asking for more info & got a nice listing in Adobe Acrobat form. I then followed-up by asking why not the other denominations & when. Still waiting to hear back on that one......

That depends on what kind of customer demand is out there.... so you've taken the first step, making your voice heard.

I'm surprised......................... can there be much af a difference in demand that nickels, dimes, halves, & Twonies need a special lobbying for?image

I'm looking to get the same ones, pretty much - - hopefully at a local shop or show. Else I'll give in & order direct with shipping.

Shiroh: A few questions, if I may.................

    (1) How do they handle their 3 years of "special" quarters (1992, 1999, and 2000, I believe)? Do they have slots for all 36 coins in those whitman quarter folders?

    (2) Do the quarter folders also have slots for all those special varieties since, like Breast Cancer, Poppy, etc?

    (3) And weren't there also '85 and '86 dollar coins? Why, then, are folders thru '84 and pick up with '87? Or am I mistaken? And do they also have slots for all varieties, or just all circ varieties, or other?

    Thx!

Well, I found the Canadian folders at a price I liked and they arrived today!

They're decent enough, although there's just something "sparse" about them - - seem to be less of a write-up on special commems than I'd like, and some folders have the coins spaced farther apart, just so as not to go into different year ranges.... In fact, they will need to create a new Quarters folder #6 just next year, as #5 only goes thru the '09 Olympics, with no spare holes for ANY '08 or '09 "regular" issues........... don't they plan on making any?

Quarters folder #4 has 6 holes for regular dates 1990-1996, and the rest dedicated to the 1992, 1999, & 2000 special 12-coin-each series. Shame is the holes only have name & mintage, and the folder's flap doesn't go into any descriptions. I found a different style folder some years ago that holds the 1999 & 2000 series & gives each coin a wonderful description. I'll likely save that folder for my collection & use the new Whitman one for one of my kids, who still have those plastic 12-coin holders for 99-00.

There's also an omission in the Loonie folder, as it only has one opening for 2004, a year in which there were 2 "circulating" issues - - the usual "swimming" loon (mintage 3.4m) , and the first Olympic "Lucky Loonie" (swimming, with Olympic rings overhead - - mintage 6.5m).

Anyone else have anything to chime in on thes new folders?

Yes, you are right they are called albums. So, why don't they make them anymore!!?? I have four or five Canadian albums. Even Dansco doesn't put them out. -Dan

There are still a few very good sources out there for discontinued Albums from all manufacturers, both new & used. My favorite has been Randy at Chief Coin & Supplies, out of Oshkosh, Wisconsin. I believe there's a post out there somewhere with address/phone/fax.

I dealt strictly with Whitman folders, both U.S. & Darkside. If used, $1 each. New usually under $4 or less.

Great service & prices. Ask for a pricelist.
