Opinions on this 1962 Topps Mantle Mint 9

1962 Mantle Graded 9???

I believe it is trimmed...alot!!!

Picture of the back of the card....bottom edge gets thinner from right to left.

The card seems to be loose in the holder...bottom edge seems to be too far away from the holder for my comfort.

Any other eagle eye opinions on this one out there????

This is just my opinion, but I don't have a lot of faith in CSA.

CSA was a 'franchise' spin-off of ASA - some time in the early 90s - which was founded by Alan Hager - the inventor of the arrowhead holder which PSA uses today.

He was also the inventor of the 10 pt. grading system used by PSA today.

I have little faith in ASA cards - tho one can find plenty of good cards in their holders - but with the bad stuff - I have first hand personal experiece. Tho, I returned everything to him - no one should have a grading company and also sell their cards.

I have heard of a lot of trimmed cards getting into CSA holders a la Pro or Gem grading company.

So for me? I would think hard before buying the card - it's practically worthless if found to be trimmed.

I believe so too w/o even looking at the card.

The holder it is in is my first clue.

The second is the fact it is a pvt auction

I need not go any further.

Agree that it is more than likely trimmed. Actually, the entire back looks tilted unless it is trimmed on both sides.

Sent him an e-mail and asked which trimming service he uses...CSA a joke but look at the $ bid. Sorry state of the hobby.

Yes, it's been trimmed and doctored.
