I know at least a few of you have awesome displays for your cards and memorabilia, care to share some pix??? I'm going to put together a vintage Pittsburgh Steelers display later this year and I'm trying to get some good ideas.
Thanks!
Paul.

FINISHED 12/8/2008!!!
My HOFers are now located in a large gun safe (much like yours Dave, thats where I actually got the idea..lol)...the case on the wall is now full of Jax Jaguars rookies..All PSA 10s...But I had the HOFer in that case for 3-4 years. Never in direct UV light, and never had any fade issues.
When I lived in Hawaii, I had a few cards displayed using small individual card stands. A couple would get direct sunlight during the day, and yes they did fade. These were 80s Topps cardstock.

<< <i>Do you guys have any "worries" about light fading the cards? I would assume they are not near any UV light?
Dave >>
The room has 2 windows....I keep the drapes closed 24-7. We have 3 lamps in the room..none hit the cases directly. I have had cards in the cases for several years, and have not noticed any damage. Does worry me though.

Who makes those displays you use for your graded cards. Are they Pennzoni cases?
Thanks.

Regular glass only blocks about half (47%) of UV-A. Glass does block UV-B effectively (100%).
You can mitigate UV at the source, or at the point of concern. It might be cheaper, depending on your lights, to put these on your fixtures instead of a huge sheet on your case.
There are at least 8 different types of glass available: standard glass, non-glare glass, standard UV glass, non-glare UV glass, standard acrylic, non-glare acrylic, standard UV acrylic, and non-glare UV acrylic. For some reason, prices are difficult to find online. All the sites I've found say to call for a quote or go to a local framing shop.
Here's a site that details some of the UV glass options on the market.
These guys seem to have a wide range of products. Their dealer locater is under contruction, and no prices are to be found on their site.
Only one site I found actually has prices. If I'm reading this correctly, for the top of the line "museum glass," you're looking at about $100 for a 32"x40" sheet.
Has anyone else done research into this? I'd love to learn more.

I'm afraid to keep any memorabilia at home. So, the web is all I have to display:

You get to look at them anytime you want, without damaging them, and you also get to share them with other collectors, which I think is a big part of collecting.

Would you be willing to share with me the construction of the display?
Thank you,
