You Grading Experts (or anybody with advice)

I have a bunch of space in my house that is getting rapidly filled up with pieces of cardboard. More specifically, pieces of cardboard that feature baseball players. That being said, I have to make some room and I have all these football cards from my Yoot ("what's a Yoot?) and various purchases that I did when I was a youth and LIKED football.

OK, the preamble out of the way. Here is one of the cards I'm asking about:

Do I grade it or sell it raw? I know it's not that great of condition at all, but what value does slabbing it have? Would I just be better off trying to get a few bucks for it and call it a day in its current state? What is the rational behind slabbing cards in a lesser condition other than preservation? There is a crease on the front that doesn't go to the back, but does run through the football on the front.

What is this, the Doctor Phil show with all the questions? I would say 10 packs of 1987 UNOPENED Topps baseball to the first person to answer the trivia question on the back of the card, but I wouldn't do that to friends. How about 10 packs of UNOPENED Topps baseball to the person that DOESN'T know the answer?

P.S.

Welcome back, Mike!!!

It was the Fighting Methodists at one point. But to be sure you better rub a coin on the back of the card to get the answer.

Sell that card raw. Not worth the grading fees. The only 1958 Topps Football card that would be worth grading in that condition would be Jimmy Brown.

Agreed on selling it raw, too beat up to get it graded and make any money on it.

    Ditto.

Or you could just give it to me and save the eBay fees.

So basically my kid won't be able to go to college, but at least I'll have a set where the three most expensive cards are of a player I despise ~ CDsNuts
