Going to stop-by ICCS tomorrow morning.

Want to get their opinion on this 1880-H narrow/wide 0 quarter that PCGS slabbed at XF40. Planning to sell it in the near future, but with a drastic change in price between a VF 35 and XF 40 I wanted to get a "second opinion" from the Canadian specialists.

Have fun and good luck! I think they will call it a 40, too.

Gene, I was thinking of taking it with me to TOREX on the 23rd, that is unless someone makes me an offer I can't refuse image

Roman - I will be at TOREX from Thursday night until Sunday morning. Look me up if you have a chance. Rick Simpson (R&S Coins) can point me out. - Rob

Do let us know their thoughts gradewise as I think it 35/40 borderline.

I am going to guess wide 0 tooled to look like
the ultra rare narrow 0 over wide 0

but lower grade by them -> VF30

So, I'm back at work after spending 5 minutes at ICCS. The place is much smaller than I envisioned it. Checked-out photos by Scott that were hanging around - he had some nice Canadian pieces come through in the past, apparently. I was a little surprised the grading was done under a single desk lamp. The grade assigned to the above piece was VF30. Brian (I believe was the gentleman's name) thought that upper left part of the "0" was a hit and not the Narrow/Wide indicator, however the bulge at 3 o'clock convinced him that it was. They didn't take my name for their records, which was unusual to me.

At this point, I think I'll take Gene up on his offer, if he's still up for it, or my other option is to contact top Canadian quarters registry holders to see if they want it for their sets, since none of them have this variety.

TK, thanks for the followup as it is good to keep up with this sort of thing.

Brian Cromwell, the owner. VF30 sounds right for ICCS.
