Packs will contain "12 cards"?? Isn't that a lot more than normal?? I rarely buy single packs, mostly retail and hobby boxes, but those only have around 7 cards in each pack usually. What's the deal here?

I buy the 2007 topps baseball cheapy standard issue since it's my son's birthyear (oh, he'll collect dammit, lol) and those packs only contained around 7 cards, 6 base cards in the packs with inserts. I'll take 12 per pack though, don't get me wrong. Although I don't think I have any desire to collect the '08 standard issue. Maybe the addition of the presidential candidate cards will change my mind.
