Not so fast, we have won without Moss and without Brady throwing up "monster" stats. We will also have a healthy Colvin back next year, he was sorely missed. Im not saying we will definatly win a Super Bowl for sure but to say NEVER, is kinda stretching it.

True, true, but like I have learned so many times before.... no matter the sport, the amount of regular season wins don't mean diddly. It does not mean SQUAT. Any sane Pats fan should probably NEVER wish another 16-0 season on them.

The pressure of being undefeated is immense! And it meens NOTHING unless you win the Big Game, I would have much rathered them going 11-5 and won the Super Bowl, I hope they lose a few games next year and get another chance at the Super Bowl-without the pressure!

Although I dont think the pressure got to them, they were just outplayed-pure and simple.

What the topic poster meant was that the 1906 Cubs won 116 games (MLB record) but lost in the World Series to the "Hitless Wonders", as the World Champ White Sox were called then. Thus they missed their chance to be the greatest team ever.

And perkdog, don't feel too badly about the Patriots coming up a bit short. You still got your Celtics and your defending champ BoSox!

Estil, I understand the refference to the '06 Cubs, the thread kinda went off track with the Pats are headed for a downfall and I dont think thats the case.

That was the meaning. The 1906 Cubs had the greatest regular season of any MLB team in the "modern" era 116-36 and then went on to lose the WS to a nobody team. No one remembers the 1906 Cubs as the greatest team ever and nobody will remember the Pats that way either.

The Cubs went on to win the 07 and 08 WS and their 5 year regular season record from 1906-10 is the best 5 years any baseball team has ever had.
