What a revelation. He denies using steroids.

How he reacts to the line of questioning as it would go off in a number of angles would be most interesting.
Next Wednesday is going to be most interesting when they have the whole group together in one room.

This was a very big deal. No doubt Clemens was asked every possible way if he used steroids--and all was said under oath. He stuck to his story. He just gained credibility.

Someone is lying: either MacNamee or Clemens.....

I initially thought that no way MacNamee could lie because of the circumstances, but now with Clemens doing what he just did, I wonder how this plays out. Seriously, whoever is lying is digging their own grave in the next couple of weeks.

Maybe they are both telling the truth, but Clemens' deposition today really makes the nay sayers think twice if he juiced or not.

Dooooonnn't stop beeleeevin, whoaa oh ohhh!!!!

  • << <i>Isn't it possible that both parties might be telling the truth, not that I necessarily believe that. However, Clemens could have been injected with steroids, thinking it was a B-12 shot or whatever, and McNamee could have injected him knowing it was steroids. It is at least theoretically possible that both parties, in their minds, are telling the truth. >>

I suppose it is possible that there was a communication mixup between them at the time it happened but then we then it would have to
be explained why McNamee would have steroids in the first place if Clemens did not want to use them. It seems implassible.

Reports say it was a 5 hour testimony.

You gotta admit, he's got balls considering the consequences. He's putting it all on the table and sticking to his story.
  • So how does this work exactly? They hear from both sides in a public hearing after the depositions and then decide who is telling
the truth if all sides stick to their story?

They will look at all the depositions and then when all are invited back on the 13th of Feb, the congressmen will address any inconsistencies in the depositions and may have more questions to ask based on that. The lies should be exposed then and there I would think.
Remember, Canseco says that Clemens likely did not take HGH or steroids.

I think Canseco sounded a little more stronger than that. He flat out called McNamee a liar and pointed out a few details pertaining to the "picnic" event. Personally, I can't see how Canseco can know for sure either. I mean, he didn't spend every waking hour with Roger all these years.
