Block this guy!

Ebay seller thebestdiscountdeals. Check out this auction of a 1940 half franc that he has for sale. Pay attention to the photos: do they look familiar?

-he used my TrueView photos without authorisation, for a different raw coin, by simply removing the PCGS logo and cert number
-he is using PCGS in the title, even though his coin is raw

and as if that wasn't enough, he's sent me the following unsollicited email (confusing the fact that I was the seller of my item, not the winner)

Dear digo6969,

Hello, congratulations on winning the 1940 silver half franc, I have an almost identical one for sale, that is listed and shall perhaps be listing it along with a 1933 5 franc and 1957 half franc, are you interested in furthering your collection still?

Report him! I'll do the same once I'm home tonight.
  • interesting how his pictures of the coin do not match - wonder if he noticed that??? the trueview coin has toning and the other one that he pictures does not (and looks like crap).

Here's his brilliant reply to my query.....I guess it's OK to rob a bank if your parents are dying of cancer.....yeah, right. image

    Dear ultimate_swiss,

I have an uncirculated swiss 1940 coin which is in mint condition, we are trying to raise as much money as possible because my father is in the last stages of advanced prostrate cancer, his bones are breaking therefore we are doing everything we can to help. The mint coin is very real as is my father's illness

  • I reported him for Keyword Spamming - that's not a PCGS graded coin, but he has PCGS in the Auction Title.

"prostrate cancer" -- does that mean he can't get up?

After looking a little closer, I think this is a hijacked account.

    1. No activity sine 5/2005
    2. Semi-literate grammar from someone in the UK? Wot?

Anyone want to bid $20,001 vs. my $20,000 bid???

    No activity since 5/2005

No selling activity since then, but some very limited buying activity, though none since March '07. Maybe he is selling to raise money for a sick relative. That said, misrepresentation is not the way to go.
