LUBBOCK, Texas (AP) -- Bob Knight resigned Monday as coach at Texas Tech, a stunning midseason move by major college basketball's winningest men's coach.

His son, Pat, a Red Raiders assistant, will take over the program. It was unclear why Knight stepped down.

    aw,bobby was such a nice guy too image he could sure pitcha good fit, kinda like bobby cox, must be the name!!

    Probably just tired of the burn out and stress of being a coach for so many years.

    I see that a lot in Tom Izzo here in Michigan State country, in TV interviews it comes through quite easily. Coaches make good
    money but they earn it too considering all they have to deal with.
