price guide says $1450 on that nickel

paid for the submission unless you bought it for alot

(just kidding, I don't think many people would pay over $20 for that nickel raw)

congratulations, should give up on the Lincolns and go after the Jeffersonsimage

  • Glen,
Nice score on the Jefferson. I've had the same luck as you regarding Lincolns. Now is just not
a good time to submit Lincolns, as they are coming home a full grade lower than you expected.
I know of a couple collectors who have Lincolns to be graded, but are waiting for a more
    accommodating time to submit them.

  • The 73S in MS65RD isn't too bad, as top pop is only MS66RD. The 75D and 72D in MS66RD aren't bad either. Note where, how many and how large the marks are and you'll have a good start at seeing what PCGS graders want or don't like.

Only one question... How much for the nickel?

PCGS has been tough on pre '82 Memorial Cents for three years now. Many of my past submissions have
been complete losers financially even after tightening my standards IMO.
  • Yea I guess I'll have to sit on the Lincolns for a bit

...best '83-P I ever saw by a damn sight.

    Congratulations.

The pennies aren't bad even if they don't command high prices. I should think the '75-D is a little better and can appreciate the '79-D
    tempus fugit extra philosophiam.

Actually, I'd sell em' while you can (if you don't collect lincolns). The pops surely aren't get any lower...that is for sure. Pops are going nowhere but up! image

So, how much is a nickel like that worth????

Yup...that thought has been crossing my mind lately. I am actually thinking about selling off my whole collection and sitting on the sidelines for a few years so I can get a big jump on retirement and work on a down payment for a house!!image
