4 SHARP CORNERS

Is it me or are almost all of their cards overgraded. They seem to get 8's on anything they send in. I basically skip over their auctions on ebay. What's going on with this? Does this look ridiculous to anybody else?

With few exceptions, I find their grades to be right on. I have bought dozens of cards from them and have few complaints.

I block their listings. Between the multiple ID's and problem shipping issues (and lack of answering questions) I decided it's just easier to block their auctions and move on...

No problem with 4SC. Remember, buy the card, not the holder. I've passed on 4SC 9s as well as other seller's 9s and I've purchased lots of great 9s from 4SC, just depends on what the card looks like in the scan.

I have bought many cards off them and have never had a problem with them as far as shipping goes. As far as their cards are concerned my stance on that is that PSA and only PSA is responsible for the grade on the slab not the seller.

I'll stop buying from them when somebody else shows up on Ebay with bulk stuff from the 70's.

I have no trouble with 4SC either. NESC is a different story.

The only gripe anyone can have with 4SC is if they are a seller and have watched 4SC drive down the prices of otherwise over-priced modern cards in PSA 9 / 10 holders. As a buyer, I love the selection, I love that they pick crap nobody else seems to want to grade and they've made it cheaper for the buyers. I see nothing wrong with that at all. I've had some stuff that was overgraded a bit perhaps, but I can bet I've had more stuff from various sellers that out-numbers it.

Raw: Tony Gonzalez (low #'d cards, and especially 1/1's) and Steve Young.
  • Never had a problem with the either... sometimes they are the only ones that seem to have the card or cards I'm looking for.

I have never had a problem. Sure a few of their auctions have been highlighted on these boards as being overgrades but I think that's because of the HUGE number of auctions they have. It's just like in my business Bank of America has screwed up more than any other bank my clients deal with... and, of course, that's probably becasue they have more account holders, by far, than any other bank we deal with. I have gotten many cards from them and been pleased every time. I don't like their multiple ID thing but I know that going in and am careful in how I do my bidding as to only get sort of screwed on shipping!

Nope, never a problem with them or DSL for that matter.

I think they just have the PSA standard down pat. They know exactly what to send in.

What I do dislike about them is the shipping policy.

DSL in that reagard is much better.

    Good for you.

    yes & no.

i have purchased plenty of inexpensive graded psa 8-9 cardboard from them.

playing devil's advocate, i have raw sets, so buying graded -ish can be a hassle. it's nice to have resource that has steady supply & economical prices (at least in my experiences).

i only have been buying commons & the lot, no super hydroponic psa 10 ROY's or HOF's, so my perspective may be a little different.

ask yourself.."are the corners soft or are you"
  • I've spent thousands with 4SC over the years and was just blocked from bidding on their auctions. I retracted a bid (I know, I know) when I heard about the half grades from PSA as I thought the card I was bidding on should be and 8.5 instead of a 9. I can't purchase anymore now. Their loss and mine. No problems ever with them though. Everybody gets cards undergraded and overgraded. C'mon sharpies - let me back in. You got oodles of stuff I want.

  • I have bought about 400 cards from 4SC's...About 2-3% are overgraded. My gripe is that 4SC's will not picture the back of the card
  • They get more borderline 10s than the average submitter based upon, in my opinion, sheer volume.

    Not their fault, though ...

There's a hole in my head where the rain comes in.
  • No problem here. Like the combined shipping over a longer period as well, if they have what I am looking for.

Truer words couldn't be spoken...especially in regards to 4SC.

    Examples:

The worst looking PSA 9 I've ever seen. Bought this from 4SC maybe six months ago. This is there scan from the auction. Silly me, I thought it HAD to be some kind of scanner problem/optical illusion or something as there's no way PSA would grade a card that horribly miscut a 9. I was wrong.

Here's another one from 4SC. Not as bad as the first, but the bottom edge still looks WAY too crappy for a 9.

    And another

Can't really blame 4SC as THEY aren't the one grading them...PSA is. A word to the wise: BUY THE CARD NOT THE HOLDER. If it looks fishy, it probably is. I had to learn that the hard way on these ones.

They always have a clean scan of the card's front and back, so you know what you're getting.

Zero complaints from me: A+ customer service, quick and secure shipping, and flat rate for large orders.

I prefer DSL over 4SC...even though they don't take Paypal, I have found that overall their cards are higher end for the grade (at least in my experiences), whereas a number of 4SC graded cards are "sliders" for the grade, IMO, especially when it comes to centering. I usually avoid auctions for PSA graded cards with serial numbers beginning with 815-817 as a result. JMHO.

I'm a repeat 4SC customer. Never had a single problem with them. Quick shipping, and they leave feedback immediately.

I have dozens of cards from their various imprints, from the 60's on upward and I haven't had a problem. They package well, acknowledge receipt of payment, leave feedback promptly...all things I look for.

I have purchased from them and have had mixed feelings. Some 9s are borderline to me, just look at some of the 78s BB they currently have up for auction. But since they send so many cards in I think that one can always notice what looks a little off and not how many nice cards they have. I know I do it.
