Buck and Aikman, the worst Super Bowl announcers ever?

Loved the game, for such an exciting game, the announcing was horrendous. Did they say even one memorable line during the whole thing?

Tyree's catch was one of the greatest ever, but they were so non chalant. When that play is replayed over and over for years to come, whats going to accompany it?

I didn't think they were bad. Personally thought the game was sloppily played with the exception of the Giants d-line. Tuck was a beast.

The constant complaining about announcers gets kind of old...what are you expecting them to do for you?

I liked Aikmen alot, Buck is ok if not trying to sound self important all the time. It was a more subdued call I agree, no Dick Vitale screaming in your tv.

They might have been mesmorized by the catch not believing he actually caught the ball! I know I was....image
  • I think they were just stunned by the outcome, but Aikman blows. I'm of course biased though because he's a Cowboy image
  • I dont expect Dick Vitale or anything. But this was a historic game, a historic upset.

Something like Al Michaels do you believe in miracles, thats been replayed for years.

Marv Albert did a great job covering the Bulls in the 90's, he did a really good job capturing how historic that run was.

    Something like that.

This game was unbelievable, I couldn't believe it last night. That last drive in the 4th, it was mythical. Then Brady, with 35 seconds left, with a chance to win. It was set up so beautifully.

Compare it to Montana to Clark...

    Montana to Clark

Buck and Aikman are solid, but I dont think there was anything memorable last night.
  • I like Aikman alot, he's insightful and knowledgable of the game. I much prefer knowledgable football comentary to just a Dennis Miller

Aikman is the only reason I have the sound on watching the Super Bowl. He's listenable, unlike Dierdorf or most of the other color commentators.

Aikman is a real pro, IMO, infinitely better than the pompous Dan Dierdorf, though he is not as good as Simms.

As long as Tim McCarver doesn't start calling football games all will be well.

I'll even take Tim McCarver over Joe Morgan ANY day.

But I like Aikman. Buck on the other hand just annoys me whether it be football, baseball, or coed naked ice skating.

If nothing else, I thought Mr. Buck was totally out of place. I thought he as a baseball commentator. image
