Wonder if some NY local illegal bookies are headin' for the hills this morning?

I gotta think "every" NY and NJ sports gambler had the Giants against the spread as well as the under, and also played the money line as well. The "connected" books can likely handle the large loss or layoff the action to other books around the country, but the smaller books usually can't. Those smaller books might be headin' for the hills this morning so they don't have to payout on Tuesday what they don't have. Good to see the gamblers get a nice hit against the stinkin' books once in awhile!

  • My friend was in Vegas last week so I had him get me +12.5 points and +350 on the money line. I think the Mirage has enough to pay me off image.
  • i cant find the thread but i guaranteed the giants would cover, making me 4-0 on preditions Vs the spread on these boards..im thinking of starting a 1-800 number to peddle out my advice instead of giving it away for free!

best bet HANDS DOWN WAS GIANTS MONEY LINE......DID THEY WANT TO JUST GIVE THE MONEY AWAY???????

easiest bet of the week, bet the pats.....

those of you who have been following my betting advice should be 3-0....

the giants are the worst exuse for a playoff team in a lot of years.....only because the NFC is soo weak are they making it....

they will be embarassed by the patriots 2nite, and then lose next week to average TB....

    Fandango,

Looks like your math is a bit off when it comes to predictions...

Why would bookies feel a need to "head[ ] for the hills"? Don't bookie ALWAYS pay out to the same extent that they collect? image

I mean, they coming knocking on your door when you owe them money. Conversely, you go knocking on their door when they owe you money. image

Local illegal bookies are often "independent contractors" taking bets from people they know, and they often are addicted gamblers as are most of their customers. They like the action, and some like the thrill of living on the edge, sometimes taking more bets than they can really handle. Besides, they could take say 20K in NY Giants action, then suddenly a wave of NE Patriots money comes in to even it out. However in the NY-NJ area, I doubt if the NE money came in to even anything out. Unfortunately, this also means a lot of NY-NJ area gamblers are going to get stiffed by these bookies and there's not much they can do about it to get their winnings out of a broke bookie.
