Is this us-philippine peso straight serif or curved?

Comments

  • Explanation:

The top picture is a 1905-S Peso, I bought on e-Bay, rather inexpensively. It was not listed on the cert as the rare Type 2 variety.

But when I got it, I thought it was, which would make this tied for best known of a really, really scarce variety.

I showed it to TaiNoHenka, who's visiting now. He agrees, and photographed it and posted it for other opinions.

Let me know what you think. It's a real pain in the butt to take a coin from Thailand to the US just to get it recertified.

    Best wishes,

The top picture sure looks like a str serif to me.

Contrasts sharply with the bottom picture of a typical smaller peso curved serif.
