    We're talkin CASH MONEY
  • Great game...or at least great last 8 minutes. I was rooting for the Pats, but the Giants D-line was absolutely dominating.

    Incredible D !

    The whole game through . . .

To hold this team in this game the way they did was a game in itself .
  • Amazing game. That play by Eli to avoid the sack will go down in history.
  • I think this will go down as one of the greatest Super Bowl's of all time. You couldn't ask for a better fourth quarter. The people I had over for the game were screaming back and forth on each drive and we are Eagles fans!

  • << <i>I think this will go down as one of the greatest Super Bowl's of all time. >>

Agreed. It sometimes takes a little while for everything to sink in. However, considering all of the elements of the game it'll have to go down as one of the greatest. When Eli broke the tackle late in the 4th for the completion the guy hosting us pointed out the obvious when he said, "If the Giants win you'll see that replay for the rest of time"
  • I am glad that the pompous jerk Belichek lost. Also, it is nice that Mr. "Straight Cash Homie" didn't get a ring. Brady still has his millions and Gisele to go home to, so I can't really feel too bad for him.
  • Can't say I'm surprised that Bill walked off the field before the game was officially over.

What I am surprised about is that he wore a red hoodie.

Yeah...much better that the snotty kid from Mississippi who was too good to go play for a team that drafted him #1 got a ring. image

  • Pretty amusing watching the video of Brady laughing at Plaxico's prediction that they'd only score 17 points. I wonder what he would've said if Plax predicted they'd score 14.

John Elway basically did the same thing as Eli Manning. Lifted directly from johnelway.com:

John Elway, who also starred in baseball at Stanford, was drafted by both the Baltimore Colts and the New York Yankees in 1983. The Colts made John Elway the first player picked in the 1983 NFL draft, but John stunned the football world by refusing to play for Baltimore. The Colts traded their rights to John to the Denver Broncos, who promptly signed him to a 6-year contract worth $12.7 million.

At least Eli was honest and up front with the Chargers. I certainly don't condone those actions, but it's better than going to the Raiders and not putting in any effort like Straight Cash Homie did. The mistakes of Eli's youth can be overcome just like anyone else's. A World Championship is a great way to start getting past that.
  • Archie had a lot to do with Eli's decision to not play for SD. I'm not saying that I agree with it, but Archie did play a factor.

Agreed about Eli...Elway did the same thing, even worse, but no one says anything about that...bottom line is that Eli is a player that the NFL can be proud about, especially in this day and age. And yes, Archie was most certainly calling the shots when it came to where Eli was going to wind up, so what would you expect from a 20-year-old kid whose father is already an NFL legend in his own right.

  • I am a Dallas fan, so I didn't really care who won, justwanted to seea good game...AND DID. But can anyone answer aquestion that was barely touched on by the announcers. WHY DIDN'T BELICHICK TRY THE 48 YARD FIELD GOAL. This is the SUPER BOWL, and it is 7-3 in the 3rd quarter!!!!

Please don't call me a monday morning qb, I was SCREAMING for 10 minutes when it happened - my wife was mad because i almost woke up the kids....and I was pissed because I had 0-3 in my box pool (i did win the 1st qtr also.) There is no way anyone can explain it to me...it was 4th and 12....NOT 4TH AND 2 !!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Because Belichick had a large bet on the Giants to win the game.

That's the problem. Was Eli still under mommy and daddy's control back then? Or was he a man of his own?

I know Elway did it, and I think it was wrong then. It just comes across as really selfish for someone who hasn't proven themselves at all in the NFL to make demands as to which team they'll let draft them.

None the less, the kid played out of his mind the last 5 weeks. It'll be interesting to see if he continues playing this well on into next year.

Because these athletes are thrown into the spotlight for their entire college careers, we forget they are still kids. When I was 21-22 and graduating college I most definitely kept my family in the loop when choosing a place of employment. Just because they a pro-athletes doesn't make the decision any easier.

    TennesseeBanker,

I'm not a fan of either team, but I like that shirt. I bought your 56 Mantle the other day. Any chance you can pick me up one of those shirts in an XXL. Let me know how much, thanks,

Still sore because you got your butt thumped on your home field and Favre was watching the game from his farm ?

I've been a Giants fan all my life, In a land where Giant fans are not prevalent.

Given the knowledge that Archie had from his playing days it doesn't surprise me at all that he tried to give direction.

I won't stop trying to influence my child when she turns 18.

The Chargers were informed ahead of time of what Manning would do if they drafted him. With that in mind, they probably drafted him knowing that they'd get something good in trade, which they did.
