Need a couple pop's and some input, please.

1988-W Olympic $5 gold PR70...need a pop and input on a pricing
for this baby....She's graded PR70...but definetly has a CAM...
She was graded prior to PCGS showing CAM/DCAM's...

1997-P Botanical S$1 PR70....same story on this one. Not so
rich in the CAM.

In fact, I have about 20 S$1 Modern Commems that came back
PR69's and 20 PR68's and a slightly smaller amount of coins
on the 50c pieces that came back without a CAM/DCAM attribution.
These were all graded in about 1997/98 when PCGS first started
the collector club submissions. The hardcopy pops reports back
then show only MS or PR no CAM/DCAM. Any idea what PCGS's policy
would be concerning my coins...resubmit? Have to wait until
I have a Gold membership...costs??? Any ideas????

  • On your gold Commems:
1988-W Olymp. has (1)DCAM pop in PR70DCAM (no CAM listing) and (27) popin MS70.
1998-P Botan. has (1)DCAM pop in PR70DCAM (no CAM listing) and (35) pop in MS70.

You can look up the values yourself on this site.

I believe that you will have to pay a submission charge on the CAM's if you want them regraded. It is no different than submitting a crack-out.
I have never seen a Peace Dollar that I did not like!!
  • You should only have to pay a $5 reholder fee. They simply didn't list DCAM on the holders back then for modern commems, and modern silver/gold/platinum eagles.

They subsequently changed their policy and all those coins are now assigned a DCAM designation. It's really just a labelling change, there are no separate PCGS coin numbers for no-cam/CAM/DCAM like other issues. So even if you have a truly no-cameo coin, it's still gonna be labeled DCAM if you submit it. image

All that's true last I checked anyway... haven't been certifying any of those coins for about a year.
  • Thanks Supercoin that's what I wanted to hear. One more question
see if I've got this right...then this coin PR70 $5 then is showing
    in the pop right now...Correct???
