matte proof lincolns...what would you pay?

say someone had a set of MPL's ...1909 thru 1916 (minus the vdb one)...eight all together.

all of them proof 64 red/browns except the 1913 its a red.

the 1909 is a proof 65.

all are just average color ...no walt disney colors

they're all pcgs graded.

what would you buy them for?....what are they worth?...what could you sell them for?

what?

    Mike,
I guess my set fits your descriptions pretty well. So here is what PCGS says the current RETAIL value is:

    1909 PR64RB-------- $925
    1910 PR65RB-------$1800
    1911 PR64RB--------$860
    1912 PR64RB--------$735
    1913 PR64RD-------$1100
    1914 PR64RB-------$1250
    1915 PR63RB--------$475
    1916 PR64RB-------$3150

    Total $10,295

So your question is "What would I pay for these coins?" Well, assuming I REALLY wanted these coins for my collection and I didn't already own them I would probably pay close to retail. I would know that the fact that PCGS had graded them that they were the real thing and that, to me, is worth half of the value. The other half of the value to me is these coins are ORIGINAL. Nobody can say they are colorful. JMHO. Steveimage

    Hi Steve/mozeppa

The PCGS price guide is still way behind the curve when it comes to pricing these coins. I just paid 58% over the current price guide for a 1909-1916 set. In your set example the 1915 is the farthest off the actual market. The PCGS guide still has a long way to go to catch up to current market values. The problem is they are looking for auction sales vs dealer reported prices. Alot of the dates and grades haven't traded in auction for years.
