Me either. That's like a vegetable and stuff. Why would I eat that?

My wife likes to eat healthy. image

Whenever theres a special occasion she always tries to provide the option to eat healthy. But meat is just too darn good!
  • Big game means big appetite. Since I will be rooting for the Pats, Sam Adams Boston Lager is high on the menu list. Boston baked beans, New England clam chowder and anything else I can think of.
  • I think it is steak sandwiches or something, I asked this morning but then I forgot. image

If you are ordering out for pizza be aware that that this is the biggest day of the year for pizza delivery places so get your order in early image
Most places hire extra help to deal with the rush.

I could never understand y'alls fascination with steak tips.

Sure, beef prices are higher up there (just like lobster is more expensive down here) but why have a tip when you can eat a steak?

As for food, and the 3rd or 4th time this has been asked, the final menu has been made:

Bacon wrapped stuffed jalapenos (with chirizo, cream cheese, red unions, monterrey jack and cheddar cheese), surf and turf (and some chicken for the ladies) fajitas, homemade guacamole and queso with ground beef and salsa and pico, just picked up some mexican rice and refried beans, and then FINALLY for desert, apple crisp topped with vanilla bean ice cream.

Oh and since I've had a few PMs requesting the recipe:

    stown's apple crisp

    8 tart red apples
    5 tbs sugar
    2 lemons
    2/3 cup all-purpose flour
2+ cups of oats (not that quick 5-minute crap)
    1+ cup of brown sugar
    1 ts salt
    1 tbs cinnamon
    1 ts nutmeg
    2 sticks of unsalted butter

    Preheat oven to 375

Peel apples and then slice each half into +/- 1/6 slices (so about 12 pieces per apple). Combine with sugar and lemon juice; set aside.

In another bowl, combine flour, oats, brown sugar, salt, cinnamon, and nutmeg. Then melt 1 1/2 sticks of the butter and combine with mixture.

In a buttered 9 x 12 pyrex glass baking dish, layer apples on bottom and fill in empty spots with leftover apples. Cover with mixture and then top with slices of remaining butter.

Bake for 35 minutes and then drool...

Edited the slices, which depends on the size of your apple. Should get from 10 to 12 slices per..
